Apple has released the fourth beta version of iOS 27 for developers. While the number of visual changes is gradually decreasing, the company has focused on refining Siri and camera features, and laying the groundwork for future hardware innovations.

Voice Assistant and Professional Video
Siri has received the most updates. Developers have changed the interface for selecting voices and accents, making it more modern. For owners of iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air, enhanced customization options have been introduced, and in the settings, you can now adjust the length of text previews – from no display to five lines.
For professional mobile videographers, support for the ProRes Log 2 format has been added. This format allows for significantly more information to be stored in video files, providing flexibility during color correction in the editing stage.
Also, in the “Accessibility” section, the “Always Show Prompt” feature has appeared, which transcribes every word spoken by the user to Siri and vice versa directly onto the device screen.
The Mystery of Two Batteries
One of the most interesting findings in the system code were lines describing the device’s operation with two batteries. The system issues a message that both batteries are functioning normally. Experts believe this is a direct hint at the upcoming foldable iPhone Ultra.
This device is expected to feature a book-style design with an external screen and an internal flexible display. The use of two separate batteries in different parts of the casing is a logical technical solution for balancing weight and volume in such a complex device.
Multimedia and Minor Fixes
Apple has also made adjustments to the operation of its services. The Apple TV app has received a switch for automatically downloading the next two episodes of a series you’ve started watching. When you finish watching, the system will automatically delete these files to free up disk space.
In the Photos section, the “Enlarge photo to fill” option has appeared, which adjusts frames to the screen’s proportions.
Interestingly, the developers have removed the wallpaper animation added in the previous version, as users perceived it as a bug rather than a feature.
iCloud+ users will also receive additional benefits in iOS 27, including increased limits for using Apple Intelligence features for image generation.
